‘Princess Mariana’ Med-Moors Along San Diego’s Embarcadero

SAN DIEGO – One of the world’s largest privately-owned megayachts, Princess Mariana, became the first luxury yacht to be officially berthed on San Diego’s bayfront Embarcadero.

The Port of San Diego has recently opened its Waterfront Basin offering up to eight Med-Moor slips. Operated by San Diego Mooring Company, the facility provides berths for incoming megayachts that seek a temporary stay on San Diego Bay.

“This marks a significant milestone in our collaborative effort to attract megayachts to our city,” said Paul Daubner, president of the San Diego Superyacht Association. “We are pleased to join with the Port of San Diego in spreading the word about the many cruising advantages of this region. These world-class luxury yachts provide a significant economic boost to the local economy.”

Princess Mariana (Royal Denship, 257 ft.) was berthed at the Waterfront for nearly a week in mid-August, adding to the Embarcadero’s spirited, nautical-themed scenery. The megayacht is now undertaking an extensive refit at Knight & Carver YachtCenter, a San Diego boatyard.
